How to Round Off Decimal Numbers

To Identify place value

👉 Numbers are the left side of the decimal point is called ONES, the left of ones is called TENS, the left of tens is called HUNDREDS, the left of hundreds is called THOUSANDS.

👉 Numbers at the right side of the decimal point is called TENTHS, the right number after tenths is called HUNDREDTHS and the right side after hundredths is called THOUSANDTHS.

Rules in Rounding off Decimal Numbers:

1. Identify the decimal and the place that will be rounded

2.) Check the immediate number to its right. If it is 0,1,2,3, or 4 then retain the number.

If it is 5,6,7,8 or 9 then add one.
